The Rivers state Police command has exhumed the remains of the General Overseer of God is God ministry located at Agbochia in Eleme Local Government Area of the state who was killed by suspected kidnappers.
Briefing newsmen at the scene of the shallow grave where the fifty -six year old Pastor was buried at Lorre community,on Friday, the Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday disclosed that Pastor Friday Nwafor Olakada was kidnapped on May 14,2021 and was killed by the suspects ten days after his family paid 500,000 naira as ransom.
CP Eboka explained that following technical intelligence by the anti-kidnapping unit of the Rivers State Police command, Police was able to arrest the four suspects who brought the Police to where they buried their victim.
Prince Odi,one of the kidnappers who spoke on behalf of others explained that somebody contacted his gang that he wish to buy a sienna vehicle.
Prince odi said they lured the Pastor on pretence of hiring him to carry goods for them at Lorre community and on getting to the community, they kidnapped him and requested for ransom from his family.The suspect revealed that the Sienna was sold to somebody after the Pastor was kidnapped.
The suspect said a member of the gang the Pastor recognized suggested that the Pastor should be killed to ensure they are not exposed.
The suspect, Odi further explained that the Pastor was killed after the deceased prayed for him.
Mr Odi,twenty-seven years of age further disclosed that they buried the Pastor,a father of six children in a shallow grave after he was killed.
The immediate younger brother to the deceased victim,Mr Woko Olakada commended the Police for their efforts while adding that justice should be served in the matter .
Our correspondent reports that the sisters and bothers of the Pastor wept profusely as they witnessed the exhumation of the remains of their brother
