The Rivers State Police has began investigation of an alleged act of homosexuality in a public toilet at Mile 3 Motor park in diobu Port Harcourt following the arrest of a suspect known as Stephen said to be a native of Cross Rivers State who is also a taxi driver.
The said Stephen was arrested on Thursday September 30,2021 after a man caught him and another man allegedly indulging in act of homosexuality in the public toilet.
The spokesperson of the Rivers State Police command SP Nnamdi Omoni had confirmed the incident even as the suspect has been transferred to the Rivers State Police headquarters,Moscow road Port Harcourt for further investigation.
In an interview with Journalists, the attendant of the public toilet Vitalis Andrew disclosed that the said Stephen and his partner who escaped initially paid him money to make use of different toilet.
Mr Andrew disclosed that another man who was making use of another convenience heard moaning like that of a man having sex with a woman and climbed the wall that demarcated the two toilet rooms and allegedly saw Stephen having sex with his follow man.
Mr Andrew stated that when the man raised an alarm, Stephen and his partner ran away but Stephen was later apprehended by traders and others doing business in the park.
The pubic toilet attendant revealed that he called the Manager of the public toilet on phone who rushed down to the scene.
Mr Chamberline Dappa,the Manger of the Public toilet in the park told Journalists that he quickly called the Police who came in record time and rescued the suspected homosexual from mob action.
Mr Dappa explained that he went with the Police to the station and has made statement.
He said the Police asked him to bring the star witness who allegedly saw Mr Stephen having Sex with his fellow man.
