A male suspect who was apprehended by Okuru-Ama Community security team on Thursday,6th,2025 after he allegedly kidnapped a twelve year old female child from Eleme and brought her to the community has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation And Intelligence Department(SCIID),PortHarcourt,Revelation Agents can report
The Public Relations Officer for the Rivers State Police Command,SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the tranafer of the suspect whose name is still under wrap for investigation purpose.
SP Koko said the suspect has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department(SCIID) for discreet investigation on the orders of Rivers State Commissioner of Police,CP Olugbenga Adepoju.
The Community Development Committe(CDC) Chairman of Okuru-Ama community in Port Harcourt, Local Government Area of Rivers State,Chief Rowland Ibiewari had announced the rescue of 12-year-old girl who was kidnapped in Eleme and brought to the community.
Mr Ibiewari stated that the swift response of local security personnel lead to the arrests of the suspect and the safe rescue of the victim.
The Chairman of the Okuru-Ama Community Development Committee commended the prompt action of the security team and the cooperation of residents in uncovering the criminal act.
“After receiving information about the kidnapping, our security team immediately launched an investigation, conducting thorough searches and interviews.
“We were able to identify and apprehend the suspect, who has now been handed over to the Nigerian Police” he said.
Mr Ibiewari assured that the community security remain top priority and said decisive actions will always be taken to prevent such incidents.
