Rivers Commissioner Of Police Visits Family Of Woman Sergeant Killed By Male Police Officer

The Commissioner Of Police,Rivers State Police command,CP Joseph Mukan has confirmed the  dismissal of Sergeant Bitrus Osaiah who shot dead Woman Sergeant Lavender Elekwashi at Eneka area of Port Harcourt last week. 
CP Mukan made the revelation when he led a delegation of Senior Police Officers to pay a condolence visit to the family of the late officer at Isu village,Ozuzu clan,Etche Local Government area of Rivers State. 
CP Mukan said orderly room trial of the suspect showed he was culpable and the suspect will be arraigned in court on Tuesday. 
Earlier while addressing the  Chiefs and elders of the community,CP Mukan said the deceased officer was very dedicated to work.
He expressed regret that the woman sergeant died while serving her father’s land. CP Mukan  disclosed that the Police will ensure her benefits gets to her next of kin and also assist the family in the commands little way. CP also Mukan presented cash gift to the family. He prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

N. Nwagwu, urged the CP to use his good office to ensure Justice is done.
Also speaking,Jerome chukwuemeka Okorie,Esq Lawyer to the family demanded adequate compensation for the immediate family of the slain officer and also making sure Justice is served to all parties.

Engr. Joseph O Amaechi urged CP Mukan to ensure the case is not swept under carpet. Our correspondent reports that the husband to the slain female officer,Chimezie Kezeen,Youth and opinion leaders were all in attendance.
