The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State,CP Olatunji Disu on Friday 23 February,2024 commissioned an 80KVA generator provided in Police hospital in PortHarcourt .
CP Disu during the unveiling of the generator asserted that the Police hospital is a life saving department of the organization.
CP Disu in an interview with Journalists said “This is the life serving department for us in the Police work.Our jobs are dangerous.We are having alot of challenges.Health especially and we have physical ones to talk about too .
“Policemen go out,you dont know if you are coming back home.We are injured everyday and we need where to be taken care of us .Where is the best place for us to go than our own hospital where Police officers and nurses who are trained we take care of us and understand the kind of pains we are going through.So this is a wonderful place to be in and to know this belong to us.
“Most importantly we are here today to commission the brown new generator provided for this place.We know the importance of electricity and health provision .Alot of surgeries,operations take place here,we will never want the light to fail while these are going on.And basically this is a place we should have twenty -four hours electricity.
“I am happy that Today,a brown new generator has come in here to ensure that our Doctors and other health providers in this health facility are more efficient”.
Early Assitant Commissioner of Police(ACP) ACP (Dr.) Ahunanya Chukwudi incharge of Medical/Officer-in-charge police hospital Rivers state introduced key staff of the facility to the CP Disu upon arrival .
