The Rivers State Commissioner of Police,CP Olugbenga Adepoju on Wednesday 12th,March,2025 decorated five newly promoted Assistant Commissioners of Police,ACPs who were promoted from rank of Chief Superintendent of Police,CSPs.
CP Adepoju said “promotion is coming up often now.A lot of you should be expecting promotion.I am so delighted to see them decorated.They have put in a lot.
“To whom much is given,much is expected.You are in a commanding rank now, no longer superintending. A lot of responsibility is given.You have to develop yourself for the task ahead.You have to make impact on others under you.
“Retrain yourself.With this rank, pray not to be found wanting.Hold on to God and be very dutytiful.A lot of temptation comes with the rank.Be dedicated,steadfast and supervise men under you properly.
“Now we have many CSPs, Inspectors,rank and files.A lot of assignment falls on you.If you want to succeed,you have to work hard.
“Make sure you go back and learn what you dont know,that you need, to make you perfect.This is the time you show managerial skill.A lot of people are looking on you, to deliver.How you deliver will show how you were trained’.
One of the newly promoted ACPs,Peter Ihechere in his vote of thanks on behalf of others said “we ThankGod who made it possible for us to be here, If not God we will not be here.
“Hold God firm.For those of you expecting promotion,promotion will come.I thank the Inspector of General Police,IGP Egbetokun Kayode for recommemding us for the promotion.We also thank the Chairman of Police Service Commission for the promotion.We equally thank the Commissioner of Police,Rivers State,CP Adepoju”.
ACP Ihechere stated that the promotees will not disappoint,they will keep the flag flying.
The officers decorated include ACP Peter Ihechere,Dennis E, O.K Smith,Umejuru Joy and one other.
