Property worth millions of naira was destroyed as over ten houses were engulfed by fire incident on Sunday 21st,April,2024 at Campus junction in Onne,Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers state even as the Commissionsr of Police,CP Olatunji Disu,Divisional Police Officer(DPO) of Onne and some tactical units were at the scene to ensure no breakdown of law and order and guard against hoodlums carting away residents property.
Residents disclosed to our reporter that they lost many valuables to the inferno which lasted for hours and personnel of fire service in the state did not show up despite been contacted.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and is not clear if any life was lost during the infereno.
When contacted,Superintendent of Police,(SP) Grace Iringe Koko,Police Public Relations Officer in Rivers State confirmed the incident while adding that investigation has commenced.
