The Rivers State Commissioner of Police , CP Okon Effiong Okon Psc (+) fdc , has ordered the immediate arrest of the perpetrators of the heinous crime that is currently trending on social media, in which one Mr Rhino Owhorikire was allegedly tortured and forced to denounce his support for a particular politician.
CP Effiong in a statement on Friday signed on his behalf by the command’s spokesperson,Grace Iringe Koko stated that the act is in contravention of the victim’s fundamental Human Rights and negates the provisions of section 128 (b) of the 2022 Electoral Act.
The statement added that those arrested will be investigated, and if found culpable will be charged to court accordingly.
