The Rivers State Police command has arrested three suspected gunrunners and intercepted twelve bags of substance suspected to be ‘indian hemp’.
Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, CP Eboka Friday made the disclosure in a press briefing on Tuesday.
CP Eboka explained that operatives of the Command on 10th August 2022, through Intelligence-led policing, arrested one Mr Ifeanyi Nneji age 29yrs and one Idowu Peter aged 32yrs at Oil mill junction, in the process of selling a locally made pistol to one Bariduanem Dim Justice aged 34yrs, a native of Baroko in Gokana Local Government Area. They were all apprehended and are helping the Police in investigation.
In the same vein,CP Eboka said on 27th August 2022, Operatives deployed to Akpajo Police checking point, intercepted a red Mitsubuishi L300 bus with reg no. KPR 623 XA with six occupants. Upon search, 12 bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp was recovered.
