The Rivers State Police Command on Thursday,30th January,2025 visited 95 year old retired Deputy Commissioner of Police,DCP Dame Stella Obuforibo Okuyiga who was among the firs set of females enlisted in Nigeria Police Forc..
Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, CP Olugbenga Adepoju who led the delegation in his remarks said
“We came to celebrate you.Tap from you.You are a cardinal point in our job.We wish you more long life.We will continue to ceiebrate you.The whole Rivers State Command is here.
“We realize will cannot be leaving our own.You are a cardinal point to show Police can retire in good health”.
DCP Okuyiga in her response said “I am very grateful and honoured for this kind gesture.Not all retired officers will get this honour.I have opportunity to retire alive and wish you good life.
“You will walk in and walk out alive from the force.You will retire honourably.I have retire over forty years”.
Highpoint of the event was presentation of birthday gifts to the retired DCP Okuyiga by the Rivers Police Command.
