Reports reaching our news desk say a Police Officer attached to Rumulomeni Divisional Police Headquarters at Iwofe in Obi/Akpor has been detained at the station for allegedly slapping one Mrs Idongesit Archibong this morning close to the Police station.We learned the Police Officer was detained on the orders of Chief Superintendent of Police(CSP) Emmanuel Wagbara, the Divisional Police Officer(DPO) of the station.
A source say the DPO ordered the arrest of the officer following a complaint lodge against the officer by a security Activist Bosinde Araikpe,who is the convener of “Police is your friend”.When contacted Bosinde Araikpe confirmed the incident to Revelation Agents. The spokesperson of Rivers state Police command,DSP Nnamdi Omoni is yet to respond to text messages sent to his mobile line to confirm the authenticity of the report.
