The Rivers State Police command says it has rescued a female lawyer Bisola Paulette Ajayi who was abducted on the 4th October, 2020 and a male victim one Paul Nyula at a forest in Okomoko in Etche LGA on Wednesday night 7th October 2020.
The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, CP Joseph Mukan said men of Anti-kidnapping acting on credible intelligence stormed the forest and in the process of the kidnappers Chinedu Chigbu aged 39 who was keeping watch over the victims was arrested while another suspect fatally wounded in exchange of cross fire and later taken to hospital where he was confirmed dead.
CP Mukan said the camp of the kidnappers were destroyed .
CP Mukan listed items recovered to include AK 47 riffle, fully loaded magazine and 100 round of life ammunition.
Paulette Ajayi and Paul Nyulaku in their response commended the Police command for their effort.
In a related development, CP Mukan confirmed the arrest of 3 suspected baby child traffickers Anthonia Amos, Juliana Obianwa and Pauline Umoh.
CP Mukan said the baby has been handed over to the mother while efforts are on to arrest fleeing members of the gang .
The buyer of the baby Juliet Obianwa disclosed that she was told that the baby is from Orphanage home and she was asked to pay 1 million naira.
Mrs Obianwa said she was looking for a baby boy to abduct that was what led her to the incident
