The Rivers State Police command says it discovered a suspected baby factory at Woji area of PortHarcourt,on Tuesday 25th Feberuary 2020.
The Spokesperson of Rivers State Police command,Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP) Nnamdi Omoni in a press briefing Today in PortHarcourt explained that men of Eagle Crack Police Unit stormed the place at about 03:30PM on Tuesday and rescued 24 children,5 pregnant teenagers.
The Lawyer to the owner of the suspected baby factory Barrister(Mrs) Eunice Onyema Uchendu in an interview with news men said the place is an orphanage home not a baby factory as alleged by the Police.
Barrister Uchendu said the orphanage home,Tender Life Foundation Initiative works in collaboration with Rivers State Ministry of Social Welfare and it was registered in June 2018.She added that the NGO is a transition home that also takes care of pregnant women.
