SELEMATI foundation held a sensitization meeting with leaders of Orogbum community in Port Harcourt local Government area of Rivers state, Nigeria with a view to raise their awareness on the need and benefits of establishing a community based health insurance scheme in the model primary health center in Orogbum.
The Programme Manager of SELEMATI foundation Mrs Rita Kigbara in her speech highlighted some of the benefits as follows:
1.Improved access to health services
2.Improved quality of care, efficiency and more equitable health services.
The President General of Orogbum community Pastor Theophilus Akugbo who responded on behalf of the elders stated that it was a good idea but added that SELEMATI foundation will be invited to sensitize the community at their general meeting early November,2018.
Onochie-Preye Timiebi, the coordinator of SELEMATI foundation was also in attendance in the meeting which held at Orogbum civic centre last Friday.
Revelation Agents Online News correspondent also gathered that SELEMATI foundation mission statement include promoting research and international collaboration in the fields of Environmental studies, Law and Medicine by funding research, professional fellowships, academic events and access to medical diagnostic centres with clinical facilities.
