The Rivers State Police command,Nigeria has broken silence on allegation that the command lied to the public that previous autopsy report conducted on late Chima Ikwunado who died in Eagle Crack detention facility showed he died of high sugar.
The spokesperson of Rivers state Police command,Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP) Nnamdi Omoni in an interview with Journalists revealed that Superintendent of Police(SP) Benson Adetuyi lied to the Commissioner of Police in the state,CP Dandaura Mustapha and Police headquarters that late autopsy report conducted on late Chima Ikwunado shows he died of high sugar.
The spokesperson of Rivers Police command explained that it was based on the information the Unit Commander of Eagle Crack SP Adetuyi gave to the Commissioner of Police made the Police to tell the public late Chima died of high sugar.
The Police pathologist Dr.Musa Stephen who conducted autopsy on late Chima on Monday 10 February 2020 had revealed that no previous autopsy was conducted on late Chima contrary to claims by the Eagle crack commander that autopsy showed he died of high sugar. The public had called for resignation of the Commissioner of Police after Dr.Stephen made the revelation.
