The National Union of Lueku Students (NULS) has sent a Save Our Soul Message to Governor of Rivers State Chief Barr. E.N Wike, the Rivers State House of Assembly, the ministry of education, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA),
The National Human Rights Commission and indeed all lovers of education on the deplorable condition of C.S.S Lueku that has been submerged by water, leaving students and staff out of school.
A statement by Comrade Manson Dumlebabari,Chairman Stakeholders of NULS explained that
Community Secondary School Lueku is located in Nyokhana District of Khana LGA and it’s the only secondary school that serve the entire Lueku community and other neighbouring communities as the only source of secondary education to the people.
The statement read that ,this is coming as the only primary school in the area “School 1&4” had been demolished by the Amaechi administration for the construction of the then modern primary school but was abandoned leaving innocent pupils out of school for God knows how long now without any form of succour.
He asserted that if due attention is not given to this ugly situation, then the entire Lueku community would have been denied all forms of primary and secondary education.
The student body appealed to the Governor who they believe knows the importance of education as a former minister of education to come to their aid and avert an eminent collapse of education in Lueku land.
A community with many out of school children is indeed a threat to the peace and stability of the state as resort to crime and criminality due to ignorance is inevitable, the statement added
