It was like tales by moonlight on Thursday night 9th May,2024 when suspected armedrobbers numbering five intercepted a vehicle conveying goats from Oyigbo,in Oyigbo LGA to Slaughther Mile 3 Diobu,PortHarcourt Rivers State.
In an interview with our reporter, Nelson Tasie fomer Vice Chairman of Goat Meat Sellers Association Bishop Okoye line,Mile 3 Diobu, disclosed that the vehicle conveying the goats from Oyigbo had a flat tyre around Rumukwushi axis of Aba road at about 9pm.
Mr Tasie said “the driver of the open vanagon vehicle conveying the goats left his motor boy to go and look for vulcanizer that night.Suddenly five men came out from nowhere with machet and other dangerous weapons and burst the head of the motor boy.
“The motorboy ran away in pool of his blood as he stayed far to watch the hoodlums cart away two big goats which cost 60,000 naira each.Unfortunately the two goats which the hoodlums carted away was mine.
The former Vice Chairman of the Goat Meat Sellers Association also revealed that the incident has not been reported to Police as at press time.
At the Bishop Okoye line today,goat meat sellers expressed shock at the development.
